About the Journal

The Journal of Contemporary Eastern Asia (JCEA), ISSN 2383-9449, publishes peer-reviewed scholarship on East Asia, data, and the networked society. It is a biannual journal on convergence and future studies in Asia.

Aims and Scope

The journal originally covered political, social, and economic trends in East and Southeast Asia, and has since broadened its focus to socio-technical convergence and future network studies. JCEA welcomes original research as well as significant reexaminations of existing literature.

History

2001: Founded by the Austrian Association of East Asian Studies together with scholars from Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea.
2010: The Cyber Emotions Research Center at YeungNam University became co-publisher alongside WATEF.
After 2012: Following the Austrian Association's closure during the European financial crisis, JCEA transferred to YeungNam University's Cyber Emotions Research Center and the Asia Triple Helix Society (renamed WATEF in 2015).

Publisher

JCEA is published by the Cyber Emotions Research Center, YeungNam University (Korea) and WATEF (World Association for Triple Helix and Future Strategy Studies).

All content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without prior permission.

The journal is listed in Scopus and DOAJ, among other databases.
